What happens when an object finds its owner?

The pieces in this exhibition exist in a state of suspended potential—each containing unspoken conversations and latent meanings that await activation through human engagement. Until that moment, they remain in dialogue only with themselves and their environment, reflecting light, absorbing sound, occupying space.

Upon acquisition, this changes. The object begins its true life, developing patinas from touch, accumulating stories, and forming a unique relationship with its owner. The conversation begins. The dormant awakens.

Dormant Dialogues presents 21 exceptional works by leading contemporary designers who have created pieces specifically to evolve through ownership. Some transform physically through handling. Others reveal hidden aspects only through particular interactions. All exist between two states: what they are now, and what they will become.
